Q&A: Is it easier to be a Democrat and use facts and logic or be Republican and just say what pops into your head?

Question by Sweet Sarah: Is it easier to be a Democrat and use facts and logic or be Republican and just say what pops into your head?
The earth was made in 6 days and is 9,000 years old.
Thank god humans were tough enough to defeat the dinosaurs in the dyno/human throwdown of 1476!
Women’s vjayjays can shut down sperm with magic powers and rape never leads to pregnancy.
Women don’t deserve equal pay and cutting taxes for the rich will suddenly create jobs eventhough history has proven that this has not worked and there is no evidence this will work now.
Rich People will get a tax break and instead of putting they money offshore they will create jobs… you know, just because.

Being e Republican must be great. Imagine being totally immune to facts and logic. They must feel so free.

Oh yeh, here is the best one. Obama will lose the 2012 election because Fox News, Limbaugh, Rasmussen and some racists birthers said so.
@LTCgross- I love how you boldly use percents with no evidence. You prove my point.

Truly sad the level of ignorance is throughout the Republican base. I would love to be watching Fox News as Obama is declared the winner yet again.

oh my god you’re gonna be pissed in 2 1/2 weeks…….

  3. YB Logical says:

This question illustrates two failings of liberals.
First, it demonstrates the liberal adhesion to the Obama 3D Strategy of Deception, Deflection, and Defamation.
Second, it makes clear that liberals see themselves as superior beings who should make decisions for the rest of us, based on what they perceive to be in our best interests.
They assume that some very wise people — like themselves — need to take decisions out of the hands of lesser people, like the rest of us, and impose those decisions through mandates by a liberal government.
The self-flattery and self appointed superiority of the vision of liberalism also gives each of its true believers a huge ego stake in that vision, which means that mere facts are unlikely to make them reconsider, regardless of what evidence piles up against their vision, and regardless of its disastrous consequences.

  4. LTCgross says:

It is unfortunate that you are so blindly by your ideology that you attack your fellow Americans with “whatever pops into your head” or was put there by the mainstream media and your party which is very happy to accept your vote. Consider your first point. Maybe 1% of the Republican party actually believes the earth was created in six days. But you will attack half of America over this point. Well thought out plan. Less than 1% believes this dino stuff. Probably more believe in Scientology and guess what? Scientologists are Liberals! Republicans don’t believe anything you think they believe about Women. In fact we believe women can stand on their own and it is demeaning to them to pass legislation as if they are a second class citizen group.

You can’t even fathom the notion that you are the one who will ignore facts and instead attack your fellow Americans over stereotypes created by the media and by the liberals. If you are looking for the problem, find a mirror.

  5. Weasel McWeasel says:

Oh God Yes! Thank God I lean democrat, because, Lordy, I would have to seriously lop out most of my brains, to sink to republican levels.

I mean……..Birthers………….what’s the EXCUSE there? There is none.

It’s just flaming stupidity……and who the hell wants to be associated with tards that stupid?

    You’re 100% exactly right.

Facts and truth are so much better to deal with. I could never keep TRACK of all the lies I am forced to spout, if I was a republican.

  6. James says:

It’s clear that you get your “news” from the democrat media.

Polls on how Americans saw the mainstream media (TV and print) election coverage in 2008:
-Rasmussen poll: 69% for Obama, 6% for McCain
-Pew Research poll: 67% for Obama, 11% for McCain
-Sacred Heart University poll: 68% for Obama, 9% for McCain
-Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll: 67% for Obama, 11% for McCain

University of Connecticut’s Department of Public Policy survey of journalists, nationwide, during the 2008 election: 52% supported Obama versus 19% for McCain.

9/2009 Sacred Heart University Polling Institute: 69.9% agreed the national news media are intent on promoting the Obama presidency while 26.5% disagreed.

9/23/10 Pew Research poll: 43% of those who perceive bias say it is liberal; 23% say they see conservative bias.

9/29/10 Gallup poll: Distrust of the media Edges Up to Record High
Perceptions of liberal bias still far outnumber perceptions of conservative bias: 48% say the media are too liberal; 15% say they are too conservative.

9/22/11 Gallup poll: 60% perceive bias, with 47% saying the media are too liberal and 13% saying they are too conservative.

8/15/12 Rasmussen Poll: 59% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Obama has received the best treatment from the media so far; 18% think his Republican challenger has been treated better.

8/25/12 New York Times: Arthur Brisbane wrote:
“Across the paper’s many departments, though, so many share a kind of political and cultural progressivism — for lack of a better term — that this worldview virtually bleeds through the fabric of The Times.”
“As a result, developments like the Occupy movement and gay marriage seem almost to erupt in The Times, overloved and undermanaged, more like causes than news subjects.”

Who the New York Times endorsed for president, since 1960:
    1960 Kennedy; 1964 Johnson;1968 Humphrey; 1972 McGovern; 1976 Carter; 1980 Carter; 1984 Mondale; 1988 Dukakis; 1992 Clinton; 1996 Clinton; 2000 Gore; 2004 Kerry; 2008 Obama. ALL DEMOCRATS.

    9/21/12 http://cnsnews.com/news/article/gallup-only-8-americans-have-great-deal-trust-news-media-new-low:
Gallup: Only 8% of Americans Have ‘Great Deal’ of Trust in News Media–a New Low

Evidence of collusion between democrats and CNN during the presidential debate of 10/16/12:
    -10/17/12 http://freebeacon.com/candy-crowley-he-was-right/:
ROMNEY: I want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror.
    OBAMA: Get the transcript.
CROWLEY: It — it — it — he did in fact, sir.
OBAMA: Can you say that a little louder, Candy?
-http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/10/obama-gots-more-time-138699.html: CNN says Obama got 9% more speaking time [194 seconds].
-2/3/11 http://money.cnn.com/2011/02/03/news/companies/super_bowl_ads/index.htm: Fox Network charges up to $ 100,000 a second for big sports events.
[In other words, CNN gave Obama $ 19,400,000 worth of free campaign time — $ 100,000/second times 194 seconds]

The pro-democrat media has ten times more viewers than pro-Republican Fox News:
5/25/11 huffingtonpost.com: NBC Nightly News averaged 9.469 million viewers, ABC’s World News 8.380 million; CBS Evening News 6.204 million; among cable networks, Fox News 2.556 million. And those figures don’t include the democrat shills MSNBC and CNN.

  9. Juicy says:

    Way easier!

This is why Romney started stuttering during the second debate, he couldn’t remember which lie he was telling.

    Clearly a symptom of Romneisa!

  10. Loose Cannon Libertarian says:

You had a good start but as you went on it got more and more rant-like.

Both parties do this. What is important is that your logic in areas of importance is accurate.

I don’t care much what most politicians think of history so far as their competence as leaders is concerned but it does have some value. Like dinosaurs are pretty far into the past. There is some value in having a leader that has the common sense to see the evidence (I visited Dinosaur National Park once). We have a candidate now that believes a silly version of much more recent history-that the Americas were inhabited by hundreds of thousands of Jews right before Columbus arrived. As far as all that goes, I get angry at these people because they want to distort proper history with lies which is contrary to good science. They also want to distort religion with known lies.

  11. Peace through blinding force says:

    Obviously not.
    For example:
    > Literally everything you claimed about Republicans is either NOT subject to empirical proof, is NOT something even one Republican ever claimed or is indeed factually true yet universally Democrat-ridiculed.
    > You are unaware of EVEN ONE Democrat who does not claim MORE INCOME is what CAUSES more debt.
    > You are unaware of EVEN ONE Democrat who does not claim “Bush lost” tons of WMDs that were in Iraq AND that none ever existed.
    > You are unaware of EVEN ONE Democrat who does not claim Bush policy BEGAN AFTER Democrats won a controlling majority
    > You are unaware of EVEN ONE Democrat who does not claim REPEATING past actions is guaranteed to yield OPPOSITE results.
    > You are unaware of EVEN ONE Democrat who does not claim past RESULTS never actually happened.

  12. Peace says:

It’s easier not to vote for any incompetent and corrupt politician and return to God.

  13. The Virginian says:

They believe in free association. The Freudian type.

  14. super g says:

Facts and logic are the last things liberals are fans of, so I laugh at your question. Your question wreaks of stereotypes, you being brainwashed, and things that many Repubs don’t even agree with or have to agree with.

Logic and liberals? Hmm, which party thinks society can be a utopia? How logical is that? Which party thinks it’s logical or human behavior to have any incentive to be responsible for yourself when you keep getting a free ride? Which party thinks illegal immigration magnets will cause less immigration? Which party wants to punish small business success and then expect that business to grow better? Which party thinks apologizing to terrorists will make us safe? etc etc etc

There’s plenty of irrationality on both sides, but it seems Dems are more interested in villifying rather than discussing (i.e. calling people “homophobic” for thinking one man one woman is marriage) with logic and facts. I would say Dems also stereotype the most in order to galvanize support. “Woman-hater” “homophobe” “racist” “rich snob” etc. These things just attempt to stifle discussion and paint a picture that usually doesn’ exist.

  15. thomas f says:

Let’s see, let’s go over some of the positions that liberal “facts and logic” get you to:
1)It is good to have high oil and gasoline prices because this will hasten our switch to alternative energy. Never mind that no one has a job right now; that is a minor detail.
    2) The Earth has been consistently warming up since the last ice age 10,000 years ago, including a twenty foot rise in sea level since Roman times, yet all of this is “man made”, and has nothing to do with mother nature, and should be corrected by measures such as “Cap and Trade”. Never mind that “electricity prices will sky rocket” as a result, as Obama said.
    3) It is good to borrow 850 Billion dollars from China and spend it on a “stimulus bill”.
    4) It is good to relax the work requirement for welfare recipients.
    5) Our Obama presidency should focus on developing alternative energy and achieving universal government health care, and don’t worry about creating any jobs.
    I love it.
P.S. John F. Kennedy cut taxes and the economy boomed afterward. Ronald Reagan cut taxes and the economy boomed afterward. Bill Clinton raised taxes and the tech bubble burst and our previous high economic growth rates declined precipitously. George W. Bush cut taxes and the highest tax revenue receipts to our federal government ever in our history ocurred in 2007.
