Hi,
I have to make a newtons scooter that will travel 1.5 meters without using a ramp, co2 or a rubber band. I want to use a chemical reaction that will give off gas that will propel the car. Any ideas other than vinigar and baking soda?

Chemical reactions that can produce a useful amount of the required thrust amount to building a steady flow rocket engine.

A much safer approach might be to slap some wheels onto a “water bottle rocket.”
Delivers a short burst of thrust that can propel an insignificant mass a great distance.
Just keep the scooter light and find the right air/water ratio and tank pressure to use and you’re sure to be successful.
